As I wrote in a previous article that east Java is a favorite place not only for tourists but also for photographers. Including destinations to Ijen crater, mount Bromo, Papuma Beach, tumpak sewu waterfall and madakaripura waterfall, best destination for photography activity.
Day 1: Surabaya /Banyuwangi airport – Ijen Hotel
Our staff will Pick you up from Surabaya airport or Banyuwangi airport by name board and moving toward to the small town Banyuwangi regency where ijen crater located. the journey takes approximately 8 hours by private car with stop having lunch at local restaurant on the way. Upon arrival in Banyuwangi stay overnight.
Note : more easy if take flight to banyuwangi from surabaya, Jakarta or Bali
Day 2: Ijen blue fire – Papuma Beach
At 12 am we are heading to Paltuding post (parking area before we climbing to Ijen Crater). Will be arrived at the parking area of Mount Ijen around 1 pm. Then we continue trekking, Normally 1.5 hours will be required to ascend slope of mount Ijen to reach peak of Ijen Crater and along the path, You will enjoy the stunning natural scenery with fresh air & shady. If the smoke good, then we can continue going down into the crater, to get closer from the blue flames. The way to going down into the crater is take about 28 minutes. When arrived inside the crater then we take picture of the blue flames and also sulfur miner activity. Around 8 am we going down to parking area, then continue drive back to Hotel. After shower and breakfast around 11 am we check out from hotel and continue our trip to Papuma beach, will take about 3 hours. Upon arrive in Papuma we will shoot sunset and milky way at night. After milky way shoot check in hotel and rest.
Day 3: Sunrise Papuma – Tumpak Sewu Waterfall
At 5 am we will shoot sunrise at Papuma beach, after surise shooting then we back to hotel for breakfast and transfer out. Then we continue drive to Tumpak sewu waterfall, approximately will take about 3 hours. Popular waterfall in East Java. It isn’t the largest, even in East Java, but is definitely the most impressive. From above it looks like the tree of life, from below it is immensely powerful and from all angles, it is quite simply mindblowing. Upon arrive in tumpak sewu waterfall, we will explore to shoot in this waterfall.
Around 2 pm we continue drive to our hotel in Bromo area, approximately will take about 4 hours. Upon arrive at hotel check in, have dinner and rest. If we still have enough energy we can do astrophotography.
Day 4: Sunrise photo shooting – Sunset – Astrophotography
At 3 am early morning the 4WD (JEEP) will bring you to the world’s most famous view point at Mount pananjakan on the rim of the Tengger caldera to see sunrise with its young volcanic including Mount Bromo and an active Mount Semeru in the back ground is breathtaking the play light shadow with sunrise reach Mountain succession from the top to the bottom and the usual fog of the caldera. Afterwards, the adventure be continued to an active Mount Bromo volcano. Then will take you back to the hotel for breakfast, and rest until 03.00pm
At 3 pm we start next journey to climb to Mt. Bromo, to capture mount bromo crater in the afternoon. It will be more quite so you can take picture easier. Once back to the car we continue drive to Penanjakan 1, a world famous viewpoint, which is with 2.702 m also the highest view point in the surrounding. From here we can capture the sunset, then continue to capture the milky way. Take your time. On the way back to the hotel we stop in sea of sands to take night picture in this area. After that back to the hotel and relax.
Day 5: Madakarpura Waterfall – Surabaya Airport
After breakfast. Then around 8 am we check out, we continue to Madakaripura Waterfalls on our way to Surabaya. This more than wonderful waterfall lies hidden at the end of a deep valley in the foothills of the Tengger range. After explore Madakaripura waterfall we heading to Surabaya Airport, will take about 3 hours. Finish program
