Day 1: Ketapang /Banyuwangi airport – Ijen Plateau

Ijen expedition crew will pick up you at the harbor in Ketapang. He will bring you to the ijen resto and guest house at the Tamansari village. It will be a one hours drive. If you arrive early enough, you will have time to visit the coffee plantation dan clove plantation,

Day 2: Ijen crater lake – Sukamade

At 01.am midnight we drive a short way to reach paltuding (40 minutes) to the start trakking to active beautiful crater of kawah ijen volcano IMG_2955(1,5 hours walking) enjoy in the dark the most beautiful blue fire ,

On the southern part of the lake, fumaroles are ejecting tons of sulfur every day. At night, this site is one of the only spot on Earth where it is possible to see blue fires. This is due to very hot gas coming from the volcanic conduits burning the sulfur, which leads to an extremely beautiful scenery. On the western part of the crater, a dam was build hundred years ago upstream of the Banyu Pahit river.

around at 6 am clock back to hotel, for breakfast and then we drive through Pesanggaran to the protected Sukamade turtle beach, an unspoiled three kilomtres of white sandy beaches on the Indian Ocean. While driving, we pass the extensive and famous plantations of East Java and the maountain rage of the Meru Betiri National Park. After we’ve arrived you still have time to see sunset at Sukamade beach. In the evening you will be guided by a ranger to find sea turtles that come ashore to lay their eggs. A female turtle lays more than one hundred eggs. She usually comes ashore around 19.30 and returns to the sea around midnight. You overnight in simple guest house in the Meru Betiri National Park.

Day 2: Sukamade-ketapang harbor

After breakfast you can further explore the surroundings of Sukamade. Hereafter we are heading to the harbour in Ketapang, where you can take the ferry to Bali. On our way we will stop at a local restaurant for lunch (not included).
