Day 1: Surabaya (Airport/Hotel) – Cemara Lawang

Your 3 Days 2 Nights Mount Bromo and Ijen Blue Fire Tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel or Juanda International Airport in Surabaya. From there, we journey approximately four hours by private car to the village of Cemara Lawang — the gateway to Mount Bromo. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your hotel, ideally located with scenic views of the Tengger caldera and Mount Bromo itself. Rest and enjoy the tranquil highland atmosphere as you prepare for the sunrise adventure the next day.

Day 02.  Mount Bromo sunrise tour – Ijen | Mount Bromo Ijen tour

Your Bromo sunrise adventure begins around 3:00 AM from your accommodation near Mount Bromo. (Please note: on weekends or during peak season, we may depart earlier to avoid crowds.) A 4WD jeep will take you on an exciting journey to one of the most iconic viewpoints in East Java — Penanjakan Viewpoint or King Kong Hill. From here, you’ll witness a breathtaking sunrise with panoramic views of Mount Bromo, Mount Semeru, and the surrounding Tengger caldera.

After sunrise, the jeep ride continues across the vast Sea of Sand—a surreal volcanic desert that leads to the base of Mount Bromo. From the parking area, you can choose to walk or ride a horse (optional) across the sandy plain to the staircase that ascends to the crater rim. Once at the top, enjoy the mesmerising sight and sound of the active volcano right before your eyes.

We’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant along the way. If you have specific dietary preferences or restrictions, please inform us in advance to ensure your meals are prepared accordingly.

In the late afternoon or early evening, we will arrive at your hotel or homestay in Bondowoso or Banyuwangi, where you can rest and prepare for the next day’s adventure to Ijen Crater.

Day 3: Ijen Crater Trekking – Return to Surabaya | Mount Bromo Ijen Tour

At approximately 01:00 AM, the Ijen Expedition Team will pick you up from your accommodation and transfer you to the Paltuding Base Camp, the starting point for the Mount Ijen hike. The journey takes about 50 minutes, passing through scenic Arabica coffee plantations.

Upon arrival at the parking area, you will begin your trek to the Ijen Crater, which typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. The trail spans approximately 3 kilometres, leading you to an altitude of 2,386 meters above sea level.

Once at the crater, you’ll witness the famous blue fire phenomenon, a natural wonder visible only before sunrise. You will also enjoy the spectacular views of the acidic turquoise lake, one of the largest highly acidic crater lakes in the world.

As the sun rises, the Ijen landscape reveals a breathtaking panorama. On your way back, you’ll observe the daily life of sulfur miners, who manually carry heavy loads of sulfur from the crater—an experience that adds deep meaning to your visit.

After trekking back for about 1 hour, you’ll return to the parking area where you can enjoy a warm cup of coffee or tea before the drive back to Surabaya via the same route.
