Mount Bromo Java Indonesia

Mount Bromo National Park is the only conservation area in Indonesia that has a 10 km sea of sand called Tengger, from which four new volcanic cones have emerged.

Those volcanic cones are Mount Batok (2,470 m), Mount Kursi (2,581 m), Mount Watangan (2,661 m), and Mount Widodaren (2,650 m). Mount Bromo is still the only one that is active. Temperatures at the top of Mount Bromo range from about 5-18 degrees Celsius.

Mount Bromo Being the largest volcanic region in the province, Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park covers a massive area of 800 square km in the centre of East Java.

Visitors who have an eager interest in volcanic activities must come to the park and witness the smoke of ashes coming from Mount Semeru, an active volcano that rises 3,676 meters above sea level.

By Air to Mount Bromo

You can fly with Sriwijaya Air, which flies twice daily to Malang from Jakarta. There are also many flights from airlines such as Citilink and Batik Air that fly daily from Jakarta to Surabaya.

By Land Mount Bromo

There are multiple ways to get into the park. Visitors can come from Probolinggo through the village of Ngadisari. They can also take the northeast approach via Pasuruan through the village of Tosari. The Probolinggo approach is the easiest and by far the most popular route, especially if the visitors are traveling by public bus.

Wonokitri is the closest and the easiest approach if you are coming by private vehicle from Surabaya (5 hour’s journey). Once you arrive at those villages, you have to rent 4×4 vehicles to get closer to Mount Bromo. Most tour groups from Surabaya stay overnight at Tretes, where there are several hotels, as there are in Malang, which has the added advantage of having an airport. Alternatively, you can also contact a travel agency to arrange your trip.

Get Around Mount Bromo Tour

Many visitors choose to walk while they arrive at the park. There are clearly marked tracks across the sand sea that leads to the foot of Mount Bromo. Alternatively, you can rent a jeep or hire a horse from Cemoro Lawang to get around.

Day 01: Arrival | Mount Bromo Tour

Our driver will pick you up from Juanda International Airport Surabaya or your hotel in Surabaya then drive you to the Mount Bromo area for around 3-4 hours. Afterward, you will stay there for one night and have free leisure.

Day 02 : Bromo Sunrise Penanjakan | Mount Bromo tour

At 3 am early morning the 4WD (JEEP) will bring you to the world’s most famous viewpoint at Mount Pananjakan on the rim of the Tengger caldera to see sunrise with its young volcanic including Mount Bromo and an active Mount Semeru in the background is breathtaking the play light shadow with sunrise reach Mountain succession from the top to the bottom and the usual fog of the caldera.

Afterward, the adventure is continued to an active Mount Bromo volcano. Then will take you back to the hotel for breakfast, take shower, pack, load the bags into the car and then transfer them out to Banyuwangi. It will take about 4-5 hours including a stop on the way to have lunch at a local restaurant. You will be arriving in the afternoon.

Day 03: Ijen Volcano

At 12.30 am, We will pick you up and take you to the slope of Mount Ijen, passing through plantations and rainforest. This is one of the few remaining on the island of Java with giant ferns and plants, and big trees, this journey takes approximately 1,5 hours from the hotel. Arriving at the parking area of Mount Ijen.

Approximately 1 to 1.5 hours will be required to ascend the slope of mount Ijen to reach the peak of Ijen Crater and along the path, You will enjoy the stunning natural scenery with fresh air & shade.

Rest on the crater’s edge at an altitude of 2883 meters and enjoy the best panorama of the sulfate lake, reflecting a spectacular view of the surrounding walls to give the impression of doom.

The sulfur mining workers go down into the crater and climb back up by passing a dangerous path on the edge of Ijen Crater with a load of as much as 80 kilograms on their shoulders. You will also enjoy the beautiful scenery in the crater of Ijen one of God’s amazing creations. Do not forget to take pictures in this area as proof that you have visited one of the most amazing places on earth.
