Ijen Crater Tour from Bali – Private Blue Fire Experience
4 August 2016 388x Tour Package From Bali

The rare Blue Fire phenomenon at Kawah Ijen before sunrise.
Discover the Blue Fire at Mount Ijen
Our Ijen Crater Tour from Bali takes you on a professionally organized overnight journey to East Java. During this experience, you will witness the rare Blue Fire phenomenon and explore one of Indonesia’s most distinctive volcanic landscapes with an experienced local guide.
Rising 2,799 meters above sea level, Mount Ijen attracts travelers from around the world. In addition, the volcano features a striking turquoise crater lake and active sulfur vents, which together create a unique geological setting. For this reason, many international visitors include Ijen in their Indonesia itinerary.
Why Visit Kawah Ijen?
The Rare Blue Fire Phenomenon

Sulfuric gases ignite and create bright blue flames inside the crater.
Sulfuric gases escape from volcanic vents at extremely high temperatures. When these gases meet oxygen, they ignite and create the bright Blue Fire. Because the flames require darkness, you can observe them only before sunrise.
Only two locations worldwide display this phenomenon. As a result, Kawah Ijen offers one of the rarest volcanic experiences available today.
The World’s Largest Acidic Crater Lake
At sunrise, the crater reveals a vivid turquoise lake. Meanwhile, soft morning light highlights the surrounding crater walls and volcanic terrain.
The lake reaches nearly 200 meters in depth and records a pH level of approximately 0.5. Therefore, scientists recognize it as the largest acidic volcanic lake on Earth.

Traditional Sulfur Mining
Local miners collect solid sulfur directly from the crater floor. Afterward, they carry loads weighing between 75 and 90 kilograms along steep volcanic paths.
Although the work demands exceptional physical strength, many miners continue this tradition because it supports their families. Consequently, visitors gain insight into both natural forces and human resilience.

Local miners transport sulfur from the crater floor each day.
