Pos Paltuding adalah pintu gerbang masuk Taman Wisata Kawah Ijen. Pos paltuding berada di ketinggian + 1.800 mdpl. Pos paltuding merupakan titik temu awal, seluruh pengunjung Kawasan Taman Wisata Alam Kawah Ijen yang akan melakukan pendakian.
Untuk menuju kawasan wisata Kawah Ijen ini, anda dapat melalui beberapa jalur atau rute.Rute menuju kawah Ijen yang dapat di tempuh yaitu dari Banyuwangi dan Bondowoso.
Untuk mencapai TWA Kawah Ijen ( Pos Paltuding ) dapat di tempuh dari di jalur yaitu jalur Bondowoso dan Jalur Banyuwangi. Di pos ini para pengunjung akan melalukan reservasi pendakian dengan cara menunjukkan bukti booking secara online.

Di lokasi ini pengunjung bisa melakukan kegiatan berkemah, karena dilokasi ini di sediakan kamping ground. Tidak hanya itu di pos paltuding juga banyak warung yang menyediakan makanan dan minuman. ada kurang lebih 20 warung di lokasi ini. di warung-warung yang ada pengunjung bisa beristirahat sebelum pendakian dibuka. saat ini pendakian di buka pada pukul 03.00 wib
Blue Fire Kawah Ijen, Pendakian pertama ke puncak Kawah Ijen 2.799 mdpl dibuka mulai pukul 01.00 WIB saat kondisi normal. Dan saat ini dalam kondisi pandemi pendakian di buka pada pukul 03.00 Pagi.
dari pos Pal Tuding. namun Dengan durasi normal pendakian 3-4 Jam Anda sudah mencapai puncak tertinggi Kawah Gunung Ijen. Pukul 03.00 – 04.00 Blue Fire di area Danau Kawah Ijen masih bisa dinikmati keindahan dan fenomena uniknya.

Beberapa Aturan Baru di Kawah ijen
Kepala Balai Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam BKSDA V Jawa Timur, demi kelangsungan daya dukung alam yang lebih baik kedepan seiring dengan peningkatan jumlah wisatawan setiap harinya. Akan memberlakukan pembatasan pengunjung setiap harinya.
Pembatasan Jumlah Pengunjung Harian, yang pasti dibawah seribu pendaki setiap harinya. Untuk beberapa detailnya masih dalam proses kajian. Di tahun 2019 juga akan ada pemberlakuan penutupan pendakian tiap hari Jum’at di minggu pertama untuk setiap bulannya.
